These foods can help with ratty sicknesses

- Soy can help prevent mammary tumors and decrease pain
perception
- purple grapes have more cancer prevention phytochemicals
than green
- Foods to help prevent strokes; recommended for older rats:
celery, prunes parsley, oranges (no orange
juice for males)
- Foods with antibiotic properties: banana, prunes/plum, garlic,
tea, eggplant, raspberries, onions, mustard
- May have anti-virus properties: cranberries, prunes/plums,
strawberries, onions
- Good for arthritis: clove, dates, ginger, garlic, fish oils
- For some health problems, notably congestive heart failure, a
low sodium diet will be beneficial. The
best low sodium diet is rat blocks. Fresh fruit and veges are okay but no canned foods. check labels on frozen foods
and only use those that don't contain any salt as an ingredient. No dairy products, baked goods, processed cereals
or foods, or salted foods. distilled water only
- Protective against cancer: broccoli, red/purple grapes, regular
soy
- Chocolate is a mild broncodilator
- Sick rats need food that is low in volume and rich in calories:
