Here are some facts that me and mommy's really like! We hope you enjoy them!

~ We rats clean ourselves several times a day. Almost as much as a *shudder*...cat.

~All rats are color-blind....Wait a minute! What!?!?!

~Pink eyed rats can't see as well as black eyed rats. They wave their heads back and forth in order to make everything they see move.Pink eyed rats need motion to percieve depth.

~We use our tails to regulate our body temperature.

~Rats can fart. So don't get scared if he licks up some of your pop!

~I have a belly button.

~The average rat lives 2 years.

~Rats can't give you rabies.

~My stomach is the size of half your thumb

~ When we grind our teeth its called "bruxing". it can mean we are content or stressed.

~When it looks like our eyes are bulging out of our head, we are actually "boggling". It means we are extreamly happy.

~We are happiest living with other rats instead of by ourselves. We live with others in the wild. I myself live with my dad, uncle and brother. You can't spend time with us 24/7 which is what we need.

~Sometimes it will look like we are bleeding out of our eyes or nose. it's usually just porophyn. This means that your rat is stressed or sick. Porophyn usually shows when you first bring your rats home and its adjusting to the new environment. If your rat has massive amounts of porohpyn, something is worng and it should be taken to the vet immediatly.
